Mingle is a mobile platform designed to connect you with nearby language partners for language learning and cultural exchange. At Mingle ("we", "us", or "our"), your privacy and data security are our highest priorities. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal information when you use the Mingle mobile application, and details your privacy rights. This policy is written in full compliance with Section 5.1 of the Apple App Store Review Guidelines.

1. Information We Collect

To provide you with the core language matching and community features, we collect the following types of information:

• Profile and Account Information: Your username, email address, profile picture, age and date of birth (for age verification purposes), native languages, languages being learned, personal interests, and your self-written biography.
• Location Data (Mingle Radar): Your precise (GPS-based) or approximate location, if you grant location permission, to search for nearby users and display distances on the Mingle Radar. This location data is processed in real-time and is not permanently stored as historical tracking data on our servers.
• User-Generated Content (UGC): Posts you share on the community feed, comments on posts, waves sent to other users, instant chat messages, and overall conversation history.
• Technical and Usage Data: Your IP address, device model, operating system version, in-app interactions (clicks, swipes, views), crash logs, and a unique push notification token assigned to your device.

2. How We Use Your Information

We process the collected personal and technical data for the following purposes:

• To provide the core matchmaking services, create your user profile, and recommend compatible language partners.
• To operate the Mingle Radar feature and calculate approximate distances between users.
• To maintain community safety and moderate content by scanning uploads with automated systems (such as our NSFW image classifier) and investigating user reports.
• To process and validate premium subscription payments via RevenueCat and the Apple App Store.
• To send push notifications regarding new messages, waves, and interactions on your posts.
• To diagnose technical errors, improve application stability, and optimize system performance.

3. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services

Your personal data is never sold to advertisers or third parties for marketing purposes. We share your data only with trusted service providers essential to run the application, all of whom guarantee equal or equivalent data protection levels:

• Supabase: Used for secure cloud database hosting, user authentication, and secure Cloud Functions execution.
• RevenueCat & Apple App Store: Used as our payment verification and management providers to handle premium subscription states.
• Apple Push Notification Service (APNs): Used to deliver real-time push notifications to your mobile device.

4. Data Retention and Account Deletion

We store your personal data securely using industry-standard encryption as long as your account remains active. In compliance with Guideline 5.1.1(v) of the App Store Review Guidelines, we provide a complete account deletion option inside the app:

• Account Deletion: You can permanently delete your account at any time by navigating to Profile -> Settings -> Delete Account.
• Data Purging: Upon deleting your account, your email, profile information, location preferences, posts, comments, and conversation history are permanently deleted or anonymized in our active databases. This action is irreversible.

5. User Controls and Revoking Consent

To ensure control over your personal data, you can adjust the following settings:

• Location Permissions: You can revoke location access at any time via iOS Settings -> Mingle -> Location. You will still be able to use Mingle's other features, but Mingle Radar will be disabled.
• Notification Settings: You can enable or disable push notifications at any time in your device's notification settings.

6. Children's Privacy

Mingle is a language-learning community restricted to users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors under the age of 18. If we become aware that we have collected information from an individual under 18, we will take immediate steps to delete their data permanently.
